SECTION 13- JALOPY CARS
13.1
COMPETING MODELS.
13.1.1 Any
American made standard sedan or 2-wheel drive pick-up or van. Duellys not
approved.
13.1.2 Body
will have a steel OEM origin.
13.1.3 Chassis
may be of any origin.
13.1.4 Completed
wheelbase will be no less than 108” as measured by DCS Entertainment Inc.
13.2 BODY
AND APPEARANCE
13.2.1 Any approved body may
be mounted to any approved chassis or combination of chassis.
13.2.1
Body may be trimmed, narrowed or shorted to fit chassis
as needed to keep a factory stock look. Must meet DCS approval.
13.2.2
Pickup bodies, will run tailgate and factory bed floor.
Tonneau cover approved.
13.2.3
All cars or trucks will have a complete front firewall
separating the driver from the engine compartment. Any holes or penetrations
will be covered or repaired with minimum 22 gauge sheet metal to tech approval.
13.2.4
Interior sheet metal shall be installed or repaired to
protect the driver from the engine, fuel supply, exhaust and track surface.
13.2.5
All chrome must be removed, excluding bumpers.
13.2.6
All upholstery is to be removed.
13.2.7
Hood and trunk lids are required and must be secured
with approved pins, no chains allowed. Must be easily accessible by the
fire/safety crew. Hood padding and insulation must be removed.
13.2.8
All doors are to be welded, bolted or chained securely
shut.
13.2.9
All body parts must be attached securely with out
sticking out.
13.2.10
All cars must have full fenders, hood, trunk roof and
bumpers and must meet tech approval.
13.3 RED LIGHT
13.3.1
All cars or trucks must have a working red light on the
roof of the vehicle. It must be visible form both sides of the vehicle.
13.3.2
The on/off switch must be located inside the car on the
left side of the dash, within easy reach of the driver and the safety crew. The switch will be of toggle type and
will have a bright white status indicator light mounted above the toggle
switch. The status indicator light should come on when the Red Light comes on.
No other interior lights are
allowed.
13.3.3
There red light is to be turned on when the driver is
in danger. A solid red light will indicate “mechanical problems”
and it should not be hit. A car with a solid red light on, must remain still or
make it’s way to the pits if possible.
13.3.4
A STOPPED CAR WITH NO RED LIGHT WILL INDICATE AN INJURED
DRIVER AND THE RED FLAG WILL BE THROWN.
13.3.5
Any moving car with it’s light off is fair game
within the rules of contact. (SEE DRIVING RULES)
13.3.6 Bumpers;
13.3.6.1
Front bumper:
Any stock bumper approved. Reinforcement is approved with no larger than
4” O.D., maximum .250” wall tubing.
13.3.6.2
All reinforcements outside of the area between and within
the frame rails must be level with the bumper. One upper horizontal
reinforcement may be used and extend outside of the area between and within the
frame rails at a height not greater than the top of the radiator and must be
contained within the body components.
13.3.6.3
All reinforcements will be contained within the body
components.
13.3.6.4
Vertical tubing used to reinforce the front bumper and
protect the radiator will be a maximum of 2 ½” O.D and shall not
angle forward and will be limited to a maximum of two locations; one on each
side of the radiator and located from the top of the radiator to the top of the
bumper.
13.3.6.5
Vertical down tubing used to protect the radiator will
be a maximum of 2” O.D and shall not angle forward and will be limited to
a maximum of 5 locations: These down tubes may angle from the bottom of the
hood to the top of the bumper at no less than a 45 degree angle.
13.3.6.6
Rear bumper:
Any stock bumper approved. Reinforcement is approved with no larger than
4” O.D. maximum .250” wall tubing.
13.3.6.7
All reinforcements outside of the area between and
within the frame rails must be level with the bumper.
13.3.6.8
All reinforcements will be contained within the body
components.
13.4 WINDSHIELD & GLASS
13.4.1
All glass must be removed including front windshield.
